A Quick 4 Step Sweet Delight - Crunchy Mixed Dry Fruits Chikki

Hi Friends🙂
Hope you all are doing fine and having a good week. A quote by Terri Guillemets to which I truly agree and recall at this moment, "Desserts / sweets are fairy tales of the kitchen - a happily-ever- after to supper." Today's recipe is for all the sweet lovers, who crave for sweets after every meal.😉

'CHIKKI' (BRITTLE) - a traditional Indian sweet generally made from nuts and jaggery / sugar. There are different varieties of chikki, each variety of chikki is named after the ingredients used, such as groundnut / peanut chikki, roasted Bengal gram, sesame seeds, puffed rice, beaten rice, desiccated coconut, and other nuts such as almonds, cashews, pistachios and mixed dry fruits. Thus, posting a recipe of a quick 4 step sweet delight - Crunchy Mixed Dry Fruits Chikki😋.
TOTAL TIME : 20 mins
PREP TIME   :  5 mins
COOK TIME  : 15 mins
SERVINGS    :  18 - 20 Pieces
INGREDIENTS:
Sugar   -   2 cups
Walnuts (slightly crushed)   -   1/2 cup
Almonds (slightly crushed)  -   1/2 cup
Black Raisins   -   1/4 cup
Back Sesame seeds  -  1/4 cup

STEP 1:
Firstly, grease the rolling pin and backside of a round plain steel plate sightly with ghee/oil and keep it aside.
STEP 2:
Next, in a medium bottom non-stick pan, add sugar and melt it completely till it turns golden brown in colour on a medium flame. Do not stir the sugar mixture frequently.  Just keep turning around the vessel in circular motion till sugar melts completely.

STEP 3:
Once the sugar mixture turns golden brown in colour, turn off the heat and immediately add the crushed walnuts, almonds, black raisins and black sesame seeds into it and mix well till all the nuts are nicely coated with the caramelised sugar mixture.

STEP 4:
Once the chikki mixture is ready, put it immediately on the greased round plain steel plate and press it with the greased rolling pin to form a nice thin sheet. Cool it completely for 1.5 hours. Once cooled, break the chikki into random sized pieces and store it in an air tight jar.
